Refund Policy
Journals pay for the manuscripts they receive. This policy explains what is refundable, when, and how to ask.
1.The free allowance
Every new journal receives its first 50 submissions free, with no card required. Because nothing is charged for these, no refund applies to them.
2.Per-submission billing
Per-submission fees are billed monthly in arrears for submissions received in the previous month. The following are not charged, and if charged in error are refunded in full:
- Revisions and resubmissions of the same manuscript.
- Submissions withdrawn by the author within 7 days of submission.
- Duplicate submissions created by a technical fault.
3.Yearly bundles
A yearly bundle can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund if fewer than 10 of its submissions have been used. After that, unused submissions are not refunded, but they carry over if the journal upgrades to a higher plan.
4.Supplementary services
- Typesetting: refunded in full if work has not started. Once a proof has been delivered, corrections are made at no charge instead of a refund.
- Archive migration: refunded in proportion to the articles not yet imported.
- DOI registration: registration agency fees are passed through at cost and cannot be refunded once a DOI is registered.
5.Service problems
If the service is unavailable for an extended period or a fault prevents a journal from working, we will credit the affected fees. Write to us through the contact page with the journal name and dates affected.
6.How to ask for a refund
Write to us through the contact page with the journal name, invoice number and reason. We reply within 2 working days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 10 working days.
