From accepted manuscript to registered DOI.
Abstract
Production Line takes accepted manuscripts through copyediting, typesetting and author proofs, then registers DOIs with full metadata on publication. Articles are produced as PDF, HTML and JATS XML from one source, so every format says the same thing.
- Copyediting and typesetting tracked stage by stage
- Author proof corrections pinned to page and line
- Batch DOI registration with ORCID iDs, funder IDs and references

Every article, every stage, one board
Accepted articles arrive on the production board with their final files. Production editors assign copyediting and typesetting, set due dates and see at a glance what will be ready for the next issue.
- Stages you can rename and reorder
- In-house or external copyeditors and typesetters
- Issue planning with page and article counts
Proofs authors can mark up
Authors review proofs in the browser and pin each correction to a page and line. Production editors accept or query each one, and a second proof round is a click away.
- Line-level corrections and queries
- Author approval recorded on the article
- PDF, HTML and JATS XML from one source

Metadata with ORCID iDs, funder IDs, licence and references deposited in one batch.
DOIs registered on publication
When an article is published, its DOI is registered with title, authors, ORCID iDs, affiliations, funder IDs, licence and references. Corrections and retractions update the record so the scholarly record stays accurate.
